Description
ABOUT
I was born in Macclesfield UK in 1959 and from the early age of five, I knew I wanted to be an artist. Though I studied Illustration at College, I am completely self taught as an artist. I have spent my life studying the techniques and materials of the old masters. Most of my professional career has been painting in a photorealist style. However, as I get older, the more I appreciate the impressionist style. Many artists travel this route including Rembrandt. I now love the thickness and juiciness of paint and the textures it can create.
But…. In addition to that……
These days, I seem to be going back to my “roots” so to speak, by becoming heavily involved in Fantasy Art.
I began my painting career many decades ago, as a Fantasy artist and it seems fitting therefore that I visit this genre once again.
During my professional career, I have been represented by many of the top Galleries and publishers, both here in the UK and Internationally.I have paintings in many private collections throughout the World, including British Royalty. I am also extremely proud to be the only living artist to have work permanently hanging in the Kennel Club in the UK, alongside such great artists as Landseer, Maud Earl, Arthur Wardle etc. My subject matter has been extremely varied and includes Canine art, Equestrian art, Wildlife art, Landscape, cityscape and figurative art.
